Start of Term 3

Well school has started and our school have made different plans for term 3. There's going to be a art lessons on Monday afternoons and will include sketchbooks for each student, aboriginal art leading to creating a mosaic stepping stone for the school grounds, we are going to learn  about fizzy and foaming in science. There will also be a few trips to: the Te Manawa museum for science, we are going scuba diving at leisure plex and I think we are going to do some indoor mini-golf there as well. We also will still be doing our sports programme every Thursday and will include: hockey, soccer and course rugby and will be working with Te Reo Maori. And we will be finishing our speeches for the 9/8/2011 (Tokomaru school speech day!)

Last day for Term 2

Term 2 has been a very big term. We have had the school cross-country, the cluster cross-country, cluster quiz, disco, and even started on our speeches! So today can be Tokomaru school students lucky day because right now they can be laying back and relaxing. But also today we didn't have to work, work, WORK!! we just had to tidy up the class room, had morning tea and lunch. have a little bit of P.E and have an assembly (No dances.).

So far this term...

So far this term we have had a new student teacher called Mr. Dombroski. He is a really good teacher in room 6 and there is a new student teacher in room 1 called Miss. Evit. Also this term we have been on google sketch up 8. This program is about making 3D shapes such as: houses, buildings e.t.c and you can even download models like cars! This term we have had 5 new students. 2 in room 2, 1 in room 1, and 2 in room 6. Also the whole school is working on getting fit for Thursdays big cross-country. The seniors run 3 kms and the Juniors run about 1 km.

My holidays for term 1

In the holidays, I went to Thames because my cousin was getting a grave stone put in for him. So we stayed at my auntys house for about a week. then we went to kelly tarltons and my favourite part about that was the sharks and stingrays. After a very fun 3 hours there we went to my mum and dads friends house for about 2 or 3 days and while we were there our family went to rainbows end! And my favourite part of that was mainly everything! After that we had an 11 or 10 hour drive to my best friends and stayed there for about 2 days and also watched the royal wedding. then came home to publish this.

Mosaic

Next term I think, room6 are going to be making mosaics out of old cups, plates and many more. we are going to use concrete for the base, then smash the plates, cups and all that stuff. stick the smashed bits onto the base and then make a picture.

End of term 1

In one day it will be the end of term! At assembly we are going to have two dances (senior and junior) and I'm dancing in the senior dance group. We are dancing to the song Black eyed peas dirty bit and the juniors are dancing to sneaker night. There will also be student of the term, which house won ( colours are red-rata, yellow-kowhai and purple-tawa), I-move prizes have to be won, room1 have an item they want to share, touch awards to be won, we will sing to songs-NZ national anthem,here comes the sun and you are my sunshine. We will be singing happy birthday to some people.

The smokeroom

last week, on Friday, Tokomaru school went to the fire brigade to get Firewise. When we arrived we Danny (a firefighter) told us what to do.
Then we lined up for the smokeroom, it took a long time for the line to get shorter. when we went in (we is Me, Billy, Liam, Te Urikore, Liam, Mason and Gianlucca) I could smell peanuts (because the smoke was really peanut oil!)
After our first go at it, we got a lollipop and a drink of juice.
Then, after that, one of the firefighter's said we could go in again, but this time with no firefighter and this time we had to find the firefighter and tap him on the shoulder. We all said yes so the firefighter crawled into the smoke and then we couldn't see him, he was lost in the smokeroom.
After that fun turn, we got another lollipop, a photo taken, a certificate and a little activity book.

Touch Rugby

On friday the 1st of April 2011. Tokomaru school played Touch with 3 other schools! We won 1 game, tied 1 game and lost 1 game.

Gosh. that earthquack that hit Japan a few weeks ago sounds really serious!!! hope you make it <3

Last week our school did the Tokomaru school Triathlon 2011, and I came second in the year 4's to 8's!
